Atun: Selecting the Parliamentary Board is the Responsibility of All MPs!
During the General Assembly session, Sunat Atun, the Deputy Group Leader of the National Unity Party (UBP), emphasized that it is the responsibility and duty of all MPs to select the Parliamentary Board. He highlighted the importance of completing the process of electing the Parliamentary Board without any hindrance.
“It is our duty and responsibility to elect the President, Vice President, and the Administrative Officers,” Atun stated.
"We Invite Everyone to Uphold the Law and Constitution"
Atun noted that since Parliament Speaker Ziya Öztürkler is representing the President, it was appropriate for Fazilet Özdenefe to open today’s session. However, he described yesterday’s session-opening attempt as unlawful and called on everyone to act within the framework of the law and the Constitution.
"Today’s Session is the 9th Meeting"
Atun indicated that they expected today’s session to be declared the 9th meeting. “You can put this to a vote in the General Assembly. Today’s session is the 9th meeting,” he said.
He stressed that if today’s meeting is not recorded as the 9th session, the UBP would not be complicit in this decision.
