Erk: I Hope Tatar Officially Announces His Candidacy to Avoid a Second Round
Former Foreign Minister of the Republican Turkish Party (CTP), Kutlay Erk, criticized President Ersin Tatar's recent statements, describing them as inappropriate.
Erk found Tatar's comments about preparing and completing consultations for his candidacy, made while Prime Minister Ünal Üstel was meeting with Cevdet Yılmaz, to be unseemly.
Erk expressed that Tatar's behavior was akin to "the early bird catches the worm" and noted that Tatar's actions were peculiar, especially towards his own party, which he seeks support from.
During an interview on Ada TV, Erk reiterated his equal opposition to both Üstel and Tatar, stating, "I hope Tatar officially announces his candidacy as he implied... This way, we can avoid a second round".
