Fires in Gönyeli, Famagusta, and Kyrenia Caused Damage
Three separate fires caused material damage in Gönyeli, Famagusta, and Kyrenia yesterday.
Unextinguished coals left in a plastic bucket caused the fire in Gönyeli
According to the police, at around 13:00 on Fesleğen Street in Gönyeli, unextinguished coals from a wood stove were placed in a plastic bucket and left at the entrance of a residence, causing the plastic bucket to heat up and ignite. The fire was extinguished by fire crews. The wooden entrance door of the house was damaged by the fire.
Air Conditioner Short Circuit Causes Fire
In Famagusta, at around 19:30 on Zafer Street, a fire broke out in the bedroom of a residence, possibly due to an air conditioner's short circuit. The fire was extinguished by fire crews. Various items in the bedroom were damaged by the fire, and the residence's walls were blackened by heat and smoke.
Unextinguished Cigarette Butt Causes Fire
In Kyrenia, at around 19:30 on Şehit Necati Gürkaya Street, a fire likely caused by an unextinguished cigarette butt thrown into a plastic trash bin broke out in a business establishment. The fire was extinguished by fire crews. Various furniture, a laptop, and a printer were damaged by the fire.
