DiCarlo Meets with Greek Foreign Minister Gerapetritis
Rosemary DiCarlo, the United Nations Deputy Secretary-General, traveled to Athens after her visit to Cyprus. During her stay in Athens, she met with Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis.
DiCarlo emphasized that the UN Secretary-General is focused on the Cyprus issue and is striving to achieve tangible results. She also expressed gratitude to Greece for its constructive role within the UN Security Council and provided Gerapetritis with updates regarding the preparations for the upcoming informal five-party meeting.
Minister Gerapetritis reiterated that the Cyprus issue remains a priority of Greece's foreign policy. He affirmed Greece’s commitment to a solution based on a bi-zonal, bi-communal federation in line with UN Security Council resolutions.
“The resolution of the Cyprus issue, based on the principles of federation, is an absolute priority,” Gerapetritis said.
