Unofficial Conference Set for March 17-18, Awaiting Official UN Announcement

Greek Cypriot media reported that the date for the 5+1 unofficial expanded conference, planned to take place in Geneva, Switzerland, has been finalized for March 17-18. An official announcement from the United Nations is expected in the coming days.

Alithia newspaper, under the headline "Date for Informal Meeting in Geneva Set for March 17-18", stated that the unofficial expanded conference is now confirmed for those dates.
Citing its sources, the newspaper noted that Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Christodoulides had mentioned on Saturday that the UN had indicated the possibility of minor changes to the conference date. However, the latest information suggests no changes to the planned schedule.
The report also highlighted that an official announcement from the UN is still awaited.
Additionally, the newspaper mentioned that Greek Cypriot negotiator Menelaos Menelau and Turkish Cypriot President’s Special Representative Güneş Onar met at 11:00 AM yesterday.
As part of the preparations for the expanded conference, the negotiators reportedly discussed the opening of new border crossings.
