The suspects were brought before the court yesterday morning, where Police Officer Özgür Sunalp presented the case details.

Sunalp stated that the suspects were arrested in connection with charges of "Serious Injury, Illegal Possession and Use of Firearms, Illegal Possession and Use of Explosives, and Discharging a Firearm in a Residential Area."

According to the police, on February 22, 2025, at around 3:15 PM, Lermi allegedly entered the restaurant “Doyduk Doyduk” on Şht. Mustafa Ahmet Ruso Street and shot restaurant operator Ahmet Keskin in the right calf.

Following the incident, Lermi was apprehended at Ercan Airport at approximately 5:00 PM, attempting to leave the country. The firearm used in the attack was recovered nearby with eight rounds of ammunition. Investigations revealed that Eminanç had provided the weapon to Lermi on February 20. Eminanç was subsequently arrested on February 23.

Both suspects reportedly gave voluntary statements admitting their crimes.

The investigation is ongoing, with ballistic analysis of the weapon still underway. The police noted that further witness statements and CCTV footage remain to be examined. As both suspects had recently entered the country on a tourist visa, their mobile phones will also be analyzed.

The police requested an additional eight-day detention, but after reviewing the testimony, Judge Nuray Necdet ordered both suspects to remain in custody for two more days.
