According to the police, between February 15-19, 2025, between 21:00 and 14:00, the suspect stole a bank card that M.D. had dropped at a petrol station within Near East University. The suspect then used the card for contactless transactions at various locations, withdrawing a total of 2,780 TL.

Police stated that the suspect was apprehended in Nicosia on February 21, with the stolen bank card in his possession. He had been previously brought to court twice, resulting in an 11-day extension of his detention.

The suspect reportedly confessed to the crime. Additionally, following a complaint from officials at Yüksekbaş Gıda LTD, where he worked, an investigation revealed that between July 31, 2024, and February 13, 2025, he had sold various brands and quantities of alcoholic beverages belonging to the company to five different markets but failed to deposit a total of 428,302.48 TL into the company's account.

Police emphasized that the investigation is ongoing, with further statements to be taken and surveillance footage to be examined. They requested an additional four days of detention for the suspect.

After evaluating the testimony, Judge Zehra Yalkuç Bilgeç ordered that the suspect remain in custody for four more days.
