According to the department’s statement, inspections were carried out on both imported and locally produced food items. All 27 imported products tested were found to be safe, while 10 out of 13 local products also met safety standards. However, three local samples were found to contain pesticide residues exceeding permitted limits.

A batch of "Ayşe Kadın" beans grown by Tatlısu village resident Lidia Kargı contained an unapproved pesticide and was consequently destroyed. Meanwhile, cucumbers from Ümran Çil and tomatoes from Adalet Ulucan, both also from Tatlısu village, were found to contain excessive pesticide residues. As a result, the harvest of these products has been halted until further laboratory analysis confirms their safety.

Authorities have reiterated the importance of strict adherence to agricultural safety standards to protect public health.
