Ercan Airport Set for Busy Ramadan Holiday: 1,057 Flights in 10 Days

Ercan Airport is preparing for a busy flight schedule during the Ramadan holiday period. From March 28 to April 6, a total of 1,057 flights are planned. Authorities have completed all necessary preparations and taken the required measures to ensure passengers have a safe and comfortable journey.

Between March 28, Friday, and April 1, Tuesday, the airport will handle 539 flights. However, after Turkey extended its holiday period to nine days, the total number of flights planned at Ercan Airport between March 28 and April 6 will rise to 1,057.
1,057 FLIGHTS IN 10 DAYS
M. Serhat Özçelik, General Manager of T&T Airport Operations, stated that all precautions have been taken in response to the increased flight and passenger traffic during the holiday.
Özçelik explained that Ercan Airport will service 531 arrivals and 526 departures, totaling 1,057 flights from March 28 to April 6. While the holiday in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) will end on Tuesday evening, with work resuming on Wednesday, the extended holiday in Turkey will keep the airport busy until Sunday, April 6.
PEAK TRAFFIC EXPECTED ON SATURDAY
Özçelik noted that the busiest day at Ercan Airport will be the day before the holiday, on Saturday. The airport is scheduled to service 109 flights on March 28, 116 on March 29, 105 on March 30, 102 on March 31, 107 on April 1, 103 on April 2, 105 on April 3, 98 on April 4, 102 on April 5, and 110 on April 6, Sunday.
PREPARATIONS MADE FOR THE HOLIDAY WEEK
To ensure that flights, passengers, and guests experience the most comfortable, smooth, and safe travel possible, comprehensive preparations and measures have been implemented. Özçelik mentioned that additional personnel have been assigned to operations, security, and cleaning, ensuring that passengers have an easy and pleasant travel experience during the busy period.
He also highlighted that coordination will continue throughout the holiday with the Ministry of Public Works and Transportation, Ministry of Health, General Police Directorate, Civil Aviation Department, Immigration, Customs, Fire Department, Değirmenlik Municipality, and Istanbul Handling, which provides ground services for flights.
