Hasipoğlu: Antalya Diplomacy Forum Sparked Important Discussions
A- A A+

Hasipoğlu, who represented his party alongside Prime Minister Ünal Üstel at the forum, mentioned, “We had the opportunity to meet with many diplomats, party officials, and politicians.”

Forum Featured Crucial Discussions

The forum, held under the theme "Owning Diplomacy in a Divided World," addressed a range of topics. Hasipoğlu emphasized that the forum highlighted the urgent need for diplomacy to reassert itself as a stabilizing force in an increasingly fragmented world.

“The growing geopolitical rifts, deepening global inequalities, increased violence targeting civilians, intolerance toward differing opinions, uncertainties caused by technological disruptions, and the multifaceted impacts of the climate crisis have shaken the shared sense of justice and eroded trust in international institutions. The current international system’s failure to address these challenges makes already difficult cooperation efforts even harder,” he stated.

Erdoğan's Emphasis on Justice Made an Impact

Hasipoğlu also pointed out that Turkish President Erdoğan's emphasis on “justice” in his opening speech resonated throughout the forum. He highlighted Erdoğan’s remarks on the sovereignty and equality of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), saying, “This speech clearly demonstrates the resolute stance of the Republic of Turkey.”

Erdoğan’s statement, “We have intensified our efforts to ensure the recognition of our sovereign equality and equal international status. We will continue this patiently until justice is achieved,” was a strong affirmation of Turkey's firm position on the matter.

International System Reforms Discussed

The forum also examined the dysfunctionality of international organizations and the lack of trust in them. New solutions were discussed to address the failures in global governance and to help establish a more effective and unifying international system.

In conclusion, Hasipoğlu expressed his gratitude to Turkish President Erdoğan, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, and all those who contributed to making the forum a success, stating, "I sincerely thank everyone who invited us to this meeting to make our country more visible on the international stage."
