Trial of Journalist Ali Kişmir Postponed to May 29

The trial of Ali Kişmir, President of the Press Workers' Union (Basın-Sen), who is facing up to 10 years in prison over a social media post, has been postponed to May 29.

The case, being heard at the Constitutional Court, stems from an article Kişmir shared online. Represented by Cyprus Turkish Bar Association President Hasan Esendağlı, Kişmir appeared in court today.
The hearing was adjourned, with the next session scheduled for Thursday, May 29, at which point a trial date is expected to be set.
