Three Injured, Two Arrested in Separate Traffic Accidents

Three separate traffic accidents occurred yesterday in Gönyeli, the Nicosia–Famagusta main road, and Alsancak, leaving three people injured and resulting in the arrest of two drivers.

Two Pedestrians Injured in Gönyeli Accident
According to the Police Press Office, Osman Amca (62) was driving vehicle ZC 405 when he carelessly entered the main road in Gönyeli around 4:00 PM, hitting pedestrian Sevcan Töre (39), who in turn collided with Ercan Seçkin (39) walking alongside her. Both individuals lost their balance and fell to the ground. The injured pedestrians were taken to Kolan British Hospital and are under observation in the emergency unit.
Chain Collision on Nicosia–Famagusta Road
At around 8:00 PM, Mutlu Töre (49), under the influence of 124 milligrams of alcohol, caused a chain collision due to careless driving. After treatment at the hospital, he was arrested. Police reported that Töre, driving vehicle UC 655, struck the back of a vehicle driven by Ali Osman Dikel (27), which then collided with a third vehicle driven by Cemre Bumin (29) due to the impact.
Drunk Driving Incident in Alsancak
In the early hours of the morning around 1:00 AM, Halit Özgür Kılıç (34), driving under the influence of 251 milligrams of alcohol, lost control of his vehicle SS 827 on Karaoğlanoğlu Street in Alsancak and crashed into a wall. While no injuries were reported, Kılıç was arrested for driving under the influence and causing an accident.
