İncirli: We Will Send Those Who Surrendered Their Will to the Dusty Pages of History

CTP MP Sıla Usar İncirli stated, “We will continue to stand by our will and our country. We will send those who surrendered their will to the dusty pages of history.”

In a statement made on her personal social media account, İncirli emphasized that both domestic and foreign political developments have plunged Turkish Cypriots into a deep state of uncertainty and concern. She noted that the crisis triggered by the Disciplinary Regulation change, which sparked strong public backlash, has created significant anger within society and led to protests.
İncirli further stated that the tensions escalated after the hate speech from the Imam of Hamitköy and that the disinformation circulating in Turkey has fueled attacks against Turkish Cypriots. She also addressed the comments made by Turkey’s Presidential Advisor Oktay Saral, who stated, “We couldn’t save Cyprus from Greekness,” and the term “Boşbakan” used against Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, arguing that the government’s inability to take a stand is the root cause of the ongoing problems.
She criticized the government's attempt to channel public discontent towards supporting Üstel, stating, “Turkish Cypriots are standing up for their identity and institutions; trying to attribute this to Üstel is a futile effort.”
İncirli emphasized that the real crisis lies in foreign policy, recalling that at the EU-Central Asia Summit, Turkish States reaffirmed their commitment to UN Security Council resolutions that do not recognize the TRNC, with some countries appointing ambassadors to South Cyprus. She pointed out the silence of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Presidency in response to these developments and continued:
“They are even afraid to speak the truth. While the fate of our country is being shaped, Turkish Cypriots have been completely excluded from the process. Mr. Tatar and Mr. Ertuğruloğlu, the policies you defend have collapsed, and you are buried under the rubble. We will continue to stand by our will and our country.”
İncirli concluded by reiterating that they would continue to defend their will and homeland, saying, “We will send those who surrendered their will to the dusty pages of history.”
