According to Fileleftheros, Metsola and Christodoulides met at the Presidential Palace of the Republic of Cyprus and made a joint statement to the press. Christodoulides emphasized that they were working hard to make 2026 the year Cyprus joins Schengen, while Metsola assured that the EP would stand by Cyprus in this endeavor.

Christodoulides pointed out that Metsola's visit took place just eight months before Cyprus takes over the EU Presidency. He highlighted the country's focus on achieving a more autonomous and integrated EU, noting that the EP plays a vital role in this process and expressing confidence that they would work together for a successful presidency.

Christodoulides also stated that the EU has an important role to play in resolving the Cyprus issue and thanked Metsola for her continued support of the Republic of Cyprus. Metsola, for her part, stressed that her visit conveyed a message of commitment to Cyprus and its leadership, as well as to a bright future of collaboration. She reminded that last year, Greek Cypriots participated more in the EP elections and affirmed that "solutions can be found at the European level. Cyprus and its people are an inseparable part of the EU."

Metsola confirmed the EP’s support for Christodoulides and thanked him for his efforts to solve the Cyprus issue, stating, “We will continue our support for a two-state, bi-communal, bi-zonal federation solution under the auspices of the United Nations.”

Haravgi reported that Christodoulides and Metsola spoke at the "Your Europe, Your Future: A Dialogue with Youth" event, which included Cypriot Turkish and Greek Cypriot university and secondary school students, as well as representatives of organizations across the island.

In his speech, Christodoulides claimed that they had managed to revive movement in the Cyprus issue with the help of the EU, but acknowledged the difficulties caused by what he described as the “intransigent” Turkish stance. Despite these challenges, he emphasized that they remained committed to the goal of "reuniting Cyprus." Christodoulides also thanked Metsola and the EP for their friendship and support in efforts to "reunite the homeland."
