TÜK Sets Potato Purchase Price at 30 TL per Kilogram

The Turkish Cypriot Agricultural Products Corporation (TÜK) has announced that it will purchase potatoes at a gross price of 30 Turkish Lira per kilogram for the 2025 spring season.

Following consultations with Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources Hüseyin Çavuş, and the TÜK Board of Directors, the price was determined to meet producers' expectations, according to TÜK Chairman Yenal Garabli.
Garabli clarified that after tax deductions, producers will receive a net payment of 28.42 TL per kilogram. He emphasised that the decision aims to ensure price stability between producers and consumers and reiterated the corporation’s commitment to maintaining consistent pricing policies.
TÜK Director General Kürşat Özer extended his well wishes to all potato producers for a fruitful and prosperous harvest in the 2025 spring season. He noted that all equipment at TÜK’s potato packaging facility in Famagusta has been fully serviced and is ready for the procurement process.
Purchases will begin on Friday, 30 May 2025, depending on the institution’s capacity. Producers are advised to contact Memiş Nay, the Famagusta Branch Supervisor, to coordinate deliveries.
Özer concluded by wishing producers a successful season: “We hope it will be productive and abundant.”
