Police Announce Security Measures for Eid al-Adha Holiday

In a public statement, the police confirmed that emergency hotlines — 155 Police Emergency, 199 Fire Brigade, 156 Narcotics — along with other lines, will remain operational 24 hours a day throughout the holiday.

Citizens were advised to check their security systems, turn off devices that could pose a fire risk, and ensure all doors and windows are securely locked before leaving their homes or workplaces for the holiday.

Emphasising traffic safety, the police urged the public to refrain from drinking and driving, speeding, using mobile phones while driving, and to always wear seat belts. The statement also reminded the public of legal requirements regarding the proper transportation of children in vehicles under the Seat Belt Law.

Motorcycle, moped, and ATV drivers and passengers were reminded that wearing protective helmets is mandatory.

The Police Directorate concluded its message by extending Eid greetings to the public, expressing wishes for a peaceful, safe, and accident-free holiday, and emphasising that a spirit of tolerance, peace, and solidarity contributes to resolving societal issues.
