81 Traffic Accidents in the Past Week: 29 Injured

A total of 81 traffic accidents were recorded in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus between 2–8 June, resulting in 29 injuries. Speeding once again topped the list of causes and reported traffic offences. During inspections, 178 vehicles were banned from the roads and four drivers were arrested.

According to a statement from the Police Press Office, 20 of the accidents resulted in injuries, while 61 caused only material damage. The total estimated damage was reported at 3,622,000 TL.
The breakdown of accident causes is as follows:

Traffic Inspections: Over 1,300 Drivers Reported
During the same period, 9,715 drivers were checked as part of traffic inspections across the country. A total of 1,379 drivers were cited for various violations, with legal proceedings initiated against them. As a result, 178 vehicles were taken off the roads and four individuals were arrested.
