The latest detainees are the director and the founder of a real estate company, both of whom were remanded in custody for one day for allegedly violating the Personal Data Protection Law.

The initial arrests on July 19 involved five Greek Cypriots accused of illegally crossing into a military-restricted zone in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), unlawfully obtaining title deed information belonging to TRNC citizens from the post-1974 period, violating personal data laws, and causing public disturbance.

As part of the investigation, father and son A.U. and Z.U. were brought before the İskele District Court on Tuesday. Investigating officer Mustafa Yokuşoğlu stated that the stamp of a real estate company and the signature of A.U. were found on title deed documents belonging to TRNC citizens in a vehicle arriving from the Republic of Cyprus.

Yokuşoğlu added that company director Z.U. was subsequently arrested in connection with the findings.

A search of the suspects’ home and workplace led to the seizure of numerous documents, files, computers, mobile phones, and USB drives for forensic examination.

The court granted the police's request for a one-day remand for both suspects to allow further investigation.
