Russian Airline Plane Carrying 49 Passengers Crashes Near China Border; All Confirmed Dead

A Russian Angara Airlines aircraft carrying 49 people crashed today whilst approaching the city of Tynda in Russia’s eastern Amur region, near the Chinese border.

Rescue teams have located debris from the aircraft in the surrounding area, according to Reuters.
Regional governor Vasily Orlov said the aircraft was carrying 43 passengers, including five children, and six crew members.
“All necessary forces and resources have been mobilised to search for the aircraft,” Orlov wrote on Telegram.
Russian news agency Interfax cited emergency services: “The An-24 aircraft was flying along the Khabarovsk-Blagoveshchensk-Tynda route. It failed to pass security checks near its final destination. There is no communication with it.”
According to Azerbaijani news outlet APA, aircraft debris was found 15 kilometres from Tynda.
Angara Airlines is based in Siberia.
The incident occurred as the aircraft approached Tynda, a city located in the Amur region of eastern Russia near the border with China.
