Serdar Denktaş Thanks Public for Support After Insults Against Late Leader
Veteran politician Serdar Denktaş has expressed his gratitude to the public for their response to what he described as baseless accusations and insults against the founding President Rauf Raif Denktaş.
Speaking on behalf of his family, Denktaş thanked President Ersin Tatar, former President Mehmet Ali Talat, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, main opposition CTP leader Tufan Erhürman, Speaker of Parliament, other politicians, civil society organisations, and members of the public who showed support through phone calls, social media, and private messages.
Denktaş underlined that while political criticism is always welcomed, unfounded accusations and insults against a historical leader are unacceptable. He added that the collective stance taken by the public has been a source of encouragement for his family.
