Erdoğan: We Will Always Stand by the Turkish Cypriots
President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has reiterated Ankara’s commitment to supporting the Turkish Cypriots, stating, “As the motherland and guarantor country, we will, God willing, always stand by the Turkish Cypriots as they take steps toward a prosperous future.”
Erdoğan recalled that he was in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) on 20 July to mark the 51st anniversary of the Cyprus Peace Operation, celebrating the occasion with great enthusiasm alongside the Turkish Cypriots and honouring the fallen heroes.
He noted that the visit was marked by the inauguration of the Lefkoşa North Ring Road Overpass and connecting roads, as well as the Maraş Health Centre, and the groundbreaking for the first phase of the new Lefkoşa State Hospital, which will have a closed area of 50,000 square metres and a capacity of 320 beds.
Wishing that the completed and newly launched projects would bring prosperity to the Turkish Cypriots, Erdoğan said, “As the motherland and guarantor country, we will, God willing, always stand by the Turkish Cypriots as they take steps toward a prosperous future.”
