Denktaş: Votes Must Be Counted Manually to Reflect the People’s Will

While votes are observed at polling stations, Denktaş stressed that once entered into the Yüksek Seçim Kurulu (YSK) system, they are vulnerable to software interference. He urged the opposition to file objections immediately and ensure that votes are manually counted before being entered into the system.

Denktaş also addressed the Cyprus issue, calling a two-state solution a valid goal but cautioning that the process is being steered in the wrong direction. He emphasized the need for confidence-building measures to be communicated to the UN as steps toward peace.

On election security, Denktaş warned: “Whoever controls the software can shift votes, especially in close races. Independent audits are currently impossible.” He insisted that manual counting is essential, noting that failure to do so could prevent the people’s true will from being reflected in the results.
