Traffic Accident on Değirmenlik-Kyrenia Road: One Dead, One Injured
On 29 September 2025, at around 22:30, a traffic accident occurred between the 8th and 9th kilometers of the Değirmenlik-Kyrenia Highway, resulting in the death of Ali Osman Bayram and injuries to one other person.
According to the Police Press Office, Canberk Çaydam (E-31), driving a MR 226-plated car from Kyrenia towards Değirmenlik, lost control near the Taş Ocakları area and veered onto the right side of the road. At the same time, Ali Osman Bayram (E-26), driving a LZ 354-plated car from the opposite direction, collided head-on with Çaydam’s vehicle.
Ali Osman Bayram, the driver of the LZ 354 car, was pronounced dead at the scene, while his passenger, Oğuzhan Koçyiğit (E-26), sustained injuries and is receiving treatment at Nicosia Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital.
The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
