Minimum Wage Set At 52,738 TL Net, 60,618 TL Gross; Workers’ Side To Object

The Minimum Wage Determination Commission reconvened today to set the first minimum wage of 2026. The meeting, held at the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, concluded at around 14:45.

Speaking after the meeting, Minister of Labour and Social Security Oğuzhan Hasipoğlu said the decision was taken by majority vote, announcing that the minimum wage had been set at 60,618 TL gross and 52,738 TL net.

Hasipoğlu also stated that the ministry will provide a total of 12,000 TL in support payments to minimum wage earners, adding that the support will be paid as 2,000 TL per month over a six-month period.

Serdaroğlu: We Will Object

Following the meeting, Hür-İş President Ahmet Serdaroğlu criticised the decision, describing the figure as “very ridiculous”.

“The employer side and the ministry put 18.39 per cent on the table. We will object to this amount,” Serdaroğlu said, adding that “this government has no intention of standing with workers” and accusing it of acting contrary to the principle of equality.

Hasipoğlu: We Hope To Submit Our Decision To The Cabinet

Earlier, upon entering the meeting, Minister Hasipoğlu said, “We hope to submit our advisory decision to the Cabinet.”

The commission had held its first meeting as part of the minimum wage-setting process on Friday, 26 December, at the Ministry of Labour and Social Security.

The current minimum wage, in effect since 1 July, stands at 51,202 TL gross and 44,546 TL net.
