Midterm Break Ends, Students Return To Class
The Ministry of National Education announced that the 2025–2026 midterm break, which began on February 1, has officially ended.
The Ministry of National Education has announced that the 2025–2026 mid-term break, which began on February 1, has come to an end. Approximately 58,000 students attending public and private schools returned to their classrooms today. The academic year will conclude on June 15.
Across the country, nearly 58,000 students enrolled in schools affiliated with the Primary Education Department, the General Secondary Education Department, and the Vocational and Technical Education Department resumed classes today.
According to a statement from the Ministry of National Education, 27,481 students are studying in 132 schools under the Primary Education Department, around 25,188 students are enrolled in 49 schools under the General Secondary Education Department, and approximately 4,044 vocational high school students attend 13 schools under the Vocational and Technical Education Department. In addition, 700 students are receiving education at the Famagusta Apprenticeship Training Center and the Taner Akcan Apprenticeship Training Center.
Nationwide, about 6,500 teachers are serving in public and private schools.
The 2025–2026 academic year will end on June 15 with the distribution of report cards and completion certificates.
