Ataoglu: Tourism Cooperation with Turkey Will Continue to Grow
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoglu said that strategic cooperation with Turkey will continue to expand in line with Northern Cyprus’s goal of sustainable growth in tourism.
Ataoglu made the remarks at a meeting held in Diyarbakir, organized in cooperation with the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies (TÜRSAB) and the Turkish Cypriot Association of Tourism and Travel Agencies (KITSAB).
The agency meeting in Diyarbakir, organized by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment in cooperation with TÜRSAB and KITSAB, concluded today.
The event, which also featured dishes and desserts unique to Turkish Cypriot cuisine, was attended by Ataoglu, who delivered a speech on the country’s tourism sector.
Diyarbakir Deputy Governor Ilyas Ozturk, Diyarbakir Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Mehmet Kaya, KITSAB Board Chairman Oguz Akancay, and TÜRSAB Vice President Davut Gunaydin also addressed the gathering, followed by an exchange of gifts.
On behalf of the ministry, Tourism Promotion and Marketing Department Branch Chief Mustafa Koprulu gave a presentation introducing Northern Cyprus tourism. A tourism promotional film was then screened, concluding the first part of the event.
In the second part of the program, participants sampled dishes unique to Cyprus. Travel agencies from the TRNC and from the Diyarbakir region later came together for bilateral meetings.
