Storm Warning Issued for Land and Sea
The Meteorology Department has issued a storm warning for both land and sea areas, effective until 6:00 am on Thursday.
In a statement, the department said that winds over the Taurus sea region are expected to strengthen from the south and west, while in the western Taurus area winds will blow from the north and west, gradually reaching force 8 on the Beaufort scale.
It added that winds blowing from the south and west over land are also forecast to intensify, with gusts expected to reach speeds of between 62 and 74 kilometres per hour in some areas.
