Tatar Accepts Court Ruling in Defamation Case
Former President Ersin Tatar said he respects the court’s decision in his case against journalist Serhat İncirli and the newspaper Yenidüzen Newspaper.
Tatar made a statement regarding the ruling of the Lefkoşa District Court concerning articles published by İncirli in 2022.
He noted that although the court’s decision included findings that the content of the articles amounted to insult, the court rejected his claims on the grounds that İncirli had certain privileges as a journalist.
Tatar said he accepts the lower court’s decision with respect and stressed his full confidence in the independence of the judiciary.
