Showers Expected From Wednesday As Temperatures Drop
The Meteorology Department has announced that scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected across the country starting from Wednesday and continuing throughout the week.
According to the weekly forecast covering 19–25 May, the region will be under the influence of warm and humid conditions tomorrow, followed by cooler and more humid weather for the rest of the period.
Temperatures are expected to drop by around 4 degrees from Wednesday onward, falling to 24–27°C in both inland areas and coastal regions.
The highest temperatures are forecast to reach 28–31°C on Tuesday, before the cooling trend sets in.
Winds will generally blow from the south and west at moderate strength, occasionally strong, while on Wednesday they are expected to reach near-storm levels in places.
