In statements to the press, Anastasiades said he answered all questions and presented evidence.
“The presentation of evidence has been concluded and my testimony, the reasonable questions asked by the members of the commission have been answered,” said Anastasiades, who began testifying on Monday.

It is now up to the authority to decide what to do next.

The conclusions of the Anti-Corruption Authority should be delivered by the end of May or early June.
On Tuesday, Anastasiades said that his book, O Sykofantis (The Slanderer), which aims to respond to Drousiotis’ accusations, has been submitted to the authority’s committee.

However, he stressed that the book “speaks for itself, but it is not enough on its own.”

Anastasiades said he respected the committee and would accept its findings.

The former president also took aim at a former US ambassador who was extremely critical of Anastasiades earlier this week.

He described former US ambassador to Cyprus John Koenig as “America’s Turkish ambassador”.

“I wonder if it was by coincidence or if he is trying to help some people who may be interested in the outcome of the [anti-corruption] case. I do not want to comment on statements made by a Turkish ambassador of America to Cyprus,” Anastasiades said.

Koenig called Anastasiades “a fraud and a blowhard” in a media post this week, adding that he left the position to preserve his “dignity”.

He said on Substack that they did not get along. “The truth is, we really hated each other.”

Koenig explained how their relationship deteriorated and how he tried to shame him.

“By the way, I was right about Anastasiades,” he signs off.
