Tatar Arrives in New York for Informal 5+1 Cyprus Meeting

President Ersin Tatar has arrived in New York ahead of the informal 5+1 meeting on the Cyprus issue, which will be held at the United Nations Headquarters under the auspices of UN Secretary-General António Guterres.

According to a statement from the Presidency, the meeting will be attended by President Tatar, Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Hristodoulidis, the Foreign Ministers of the guarantor countries Turkey and Greece, as well as the United Kingdom’s Minister for Europe.
The informal talks will begin on July 16 at 7:00 p.m. local time with a dinner hosted by Secretary-General Guterres in honour of the heads of delegations, to be held at the UN Headquarters.
President Tatar is accompanied by Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu; Special Representative Güneş Onar; Legal Advisor Sülen Karabacak; Coordinator for Confidence-Building Measures and Bicommunal Technical Committees Seniha Birand Çınar; Special Advisor for International Relations and Diplomacy Hüseyin Işıksal; Communications and Press Advisor Muslu Akgüney; and Foreign Press Officer Kerem Haser.
