Representing the employers on the Commission, Alp Cengiz Alp stated that no conclusion was reached during the meeting. “Data was reviewed, and economic conditions were discussed. Losses in the tourism sector were brought up. We presented our position and will work toward determining a figure,” he said.

Hür-İş President Serdaroğlu: We Want to Set the Wage as Soon as Possible

Ahmet Serdaroğlu, President of the Hür-İş Federation, noted: “The relevant documents will be completed and sent to us digitally within the day. The Minister has invited us to his office to plan the next steps. Our desire is to set the new minimum wage as soon as possible. As Hür-İş, our hope is for a unanimous decision in line with current realities. The meeting proceeded in a spirit of maturity.”

Minister Gardiyanoğlu: No Need for Further Words

Labour Minister Sadık Gardiyanoğlu said, “We expressed our intentions. We’ve been inside for over two hours. I thought perhaps we might reach a handshake. Everyone conducted themselves with maturity. There wasn’t much left to say. We received the data Hür-İş presented and shared our own as well.”
