Hot Weather to Persist Until August 14

The Meteorology Department has warned that the impact of the current hot air mass is expected to continue until Thursday, August 14.

According to the department’s statement, due to the ongoing heatwave, from 11:00 today until 16:00 on Thursday, temperatures will remain 4 to 7 degrees above seasonal norms. Temperatures are expected to reach between 41°C and 44°C in inland areas, and between 36°C and 39°C along the coasts.
Authorities and the public have been urged to take precautions against possible land and forest fires, heatstroke, and other adverse effects caused by the heatwave. People are advised to avoid staying under direct sunlight, particularly between 12:00 and 16:00, without taking necessary precautions.
