The Department of Agriculture has announced the results of its weekly food inspections for 5–11 September, revealing that two imported fruit batches contained pesticide residues above legal limits.

Out of 54 samples taken from imported products, 52 were found to comply with safety standards. Peaches belonging to Bekir Cura and kiwis belonging to Mehtap Uzunkaya were found to exceed the permitted pesticide residue levels and were destroyed at the request of the owners.

All six samples taken from locally grown produce tested clean, with no pesticide residues detected.
